Why donate?

Your donation will provide eligible high school students an opportunity to concurrently enroll in college-level career and technical education courses and prepare them to enter the workforce in high-skill, high-wage, or high-demand occupations.

 

• Contributions can be made by individuals, businesses, and LLCs.
• Contributions must be made payable to the Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education.
• Donors may receive an Alabama State Income Tax Credit equal to 50 percent of the contribution.
• Tax credit is limited to an amount not greater than 50 percent of the donor’s annual Alabama Income Tax liability.
• In no case may a donor receive more than a $500,000 tax credit in a single year.
• Annual cap for total tax credits issued for this program is $5,000,000.
• It is not a requirement to have a child enrolled in a high school to donate.
• The Alabama Future Workforce Initiative (AFWI) (Act 2014-147) was established by the 2014 Alabama State Legislature.
